Tuesday after work we packed up the car and headed to Sacramento for the United Grape and Wine Symposium. The Symposium is a large gathering in Sacramento for wine industry professionals. It always occurs the last week in January. They have seminars, trade shows, and industry parties.
Tuesday night we attended a Wine Industry Monthly party at the Pyramid Brewery. The event was a blast– food, wine and beer plus seeing old friends?..what is not to love!

The next day we headed to the Unified Grape and Wine Symposium Trade Show. Over 600 companies attend the Trade Show. The two floors of businesses took us 6 hours to complete! (Lots of walking!) It was a great learning experience, and the whole time we were brainstorming ideas for the coming year with Twin Pomegranates Wine!

After the Trade Show we attended the Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo Alumni wine party! It was a blast catching up with old classmates and professors. It’s amazing to see where your classmates have ended up after college. We have friends working from Oregon to San Diego in the wine industry. So proud of everyone!–GO MUSTANGS!
The Cal Poly Wine and Viticulture program is growing and becoming a highly sought after degree. We heard rumors they are starting a Wine and Viticulture Innovation Center on Cal Poly’s campus..the team became a little jealous we graduated before being able to use that amazing resource!
All and all the event was a huge success and we had a great time learning, networking, catching up with old friends and meeting new friends.
