Being a pomegranate wine company, we love all things pomegranate! So when we found out we could be involved in Madera’s first Annual Pomegranate Celebration we were SO excited!

We interviewed Jarrod Lyman from the Pomegranate Celebration Committee, to ask him a few questions about the festival!

What is the Pomegranate Celebration?

The pomegranate celebration is a week long event where businesses throughout Madera will showcase the versatility of pomegranates. Restaurants will showcase dishes featuring pomegranates, bars will have cocktails utilizing the fruit. There will be pomegranate art throughout businesses in Madera and at the Circle Gallery and more. All of this is to show off this wonderful fruit.

When is it?

The celebration kicks of October 29 at Home Grown Cellars, a pomegranate farm. It continues through November 6 where we will have the first ever Pomegranate Festival at Appellation California.

What kinds of things can people expect at the Pomegranate Celebration/Festival?

In a word: Fun. Delicious dishes at the best restaurants in the area, amazing art, how-to lessons for people who want to grow their own pomegranate trees, history of the pomegranate, live music and much more.

Is it family friendly?

Of course. We want to share the versatility of the pomegranate and Madera’s integral part of the pomegranate industry with everyone, young and old. The Festival will even have kids activities.

How can people get involved in this?

We would love for more people to get involved. Contact the Madera Chamber of Commerce at 559-673-3563 or Jarrod Lyman at the Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau at 559-683-4636.

What kind of businesses can participate?

Any kind of business can get involved. Just be creative! Think of how you can tie one of your products in with pomegranates, and you can be involved. If you can’t come up with a tie in, perhaps you can be one of the locations to host pomegranate art. If you want to take part, we’ll find a way to get you involved.

How much does is cost to attend Celebration events and the Festival?

The celebration and Festival are free!
